The E-volution of National Security- How Information Technology is Changing America’s Threat-Scape.
Erika Skaggs is long time resident of Lexington, Kentucky with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Kentucky. Recently, she graduated the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce, as specialist in the twin fields of Security and Intelligence. Her current research is focused on Defense Policy, specifically National Security from a Cyber Perspective and Institutionalized Sexism in the Department of Defense.
Cyber Security has not always been the most compelling topic in America’s national security conversation. However, the increasingly dire consequences of an inadequate digital defense are slowly eroding that dynamic. This lecture will serve as an introduction to some of the fundamental security questions presented by our nation’s growing reliance on information technology. Where have we come from? Where are we now? And, where are we going?
