Ted Gioia - "The Dangerous History of the Love Song," tonight at EKU Chautauqua, 7:30 PM in O'Donnell Hall of the Whitlock Building. Free and open to the public. Proof of attendance provided.

Hailed as "one of the outstanding music historians in America," Ted Gioia is the author of 10 non-fiction books, including The History of Jazz, Delta Blues, Work Songs, Healing Songs, How to Listen to Jazz, and Love Songs: the Hidden History. Gioia's books have been bestsellers, selected for many best of year lists, and won special Deems Taylor Awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

As a pianist, Ted Gioia's recordings with other west coast musicians have received airplay on over 500 radio stations in the US. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Huff Post, Popular Music, and other leading outlets. He is currently a columnist for The Daily Beast.
