American Woodcock Viewing

  
This is a great time of year to hear woodcock calling and to see their amazing display flights at Taylor Fork Ecological Area. There will be a field trip on Tuesday March 21 at 7:00pm to observe displaying woodcock. There are numerous birds at the site. They begin calling and displaying after sunset. Binoculars are not necessary.
The trip will take approximately 1 hour.
Please dress for the weather. The paths are mowed, you will require sturdy walking shoes.
Directions: Taylor Fork Ecological Area is adjacent to south campus. Take Kit Carson Dr to McKinney Skills Dr, then follow the dirt road on the right through the gate.
