DRILL: Voluntary Shelter-in-Place

On Wednesday, April 19, at 12:20 p.m., in conjunction with the testing of the Outdoor Warning Sirens and our Rave Alerts, two of our classes from the College of Justice and Safety will participate in a Shelter-in-Place drill, as though a simulated chemical were released from the Blue Grass Army Depot. Their exercise play will involve a group of students moving to the Enhanced Shelter-in-Place Buildings, activating the Collective Protection Systems, simulating locking the doors at a prescribed time, and posting mock “Stop – Sheltered In Place” signs at some entrances. This exercise will be prompted by the test alerts and will not disrupt the normal operations of the University.

If you are interested in voluntarily participating in this exercise, feel free to join us by moving to one of the Enhanced Shelter-in-Place Buildings when you receive the test alerts.
