Telling Our Own Stories: How Appalachian Storytelling Traditions Shape our Past and Future
Join Kentucky living legend Gurney Norman and Tennessee “storytelling preacher” Michael Williams to celebrate Appalachia’s storytelling traditions and how they shape the past, present, and future. They will be joined by poets Savannah Sipple and Jay McCoy, co-creators of Breir Books—a new bookshop/ story swap/ community gathering space coming to Lexington where “it ain’t holy unless the doors are open to all.”
