Toyin Falola - "Sustainable Development: African Perspectives" - Black History Month Keynote
This week at EKU Chautauqua, Dr. Toyin Falola, one of the world’s leading scholars of African History, gives the annual Black History Month Keynote Address on “Sustainable Development: African Perspectives.”
Falola is Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair Professor in the Humanities and Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. A Fellow of the Historical Society of Nigerian Academy of Letters, he has received numerous awards and honors for both teaching and research. He is the author of many books, including Key Events in African History: A Reference Guide, and Nationalism and African Intellectuals, and the editor of dozens of major collections and journals, including Tradition and Change in Africa, African Writers and Reader, the Journal of African Economic History, The Cambria African Studies Series, Rochester Studies in African History and the Diaspora, and Culture and Customs of Africa.
