The Color of Maroon 5K is back for the 4th time at EKU! Last year we had over 1,000 participants, and we hope this year will be even bigger! Color yourself crazy at EKU's most exciting fitness event on April 16. Participants run or walk around EKU's campus and through four awesome color stations. We promise no one will leave this race without being covered in all the colors of the rainbow. Registration for EKU Students is $15 through February 22 with the coupon accessed by clicking on the more on this announcement link at the bottom of this message. The regular cost for the race is $20 per EKU Student registrant through March 21, and $25 from March 22 to race day. CHILDREN UNDER 12 ARE FREE WITH PAYING ADULT. Children must also be registered on the race website. Please contact EKU Campus Recreation with any questions.

The Multicultural Center will be sponsoring a trip for 10 students to Historic Camp Nelson Heritage Park in Jessamine County, KY. Camp Nelson was the third largest African-American Recruiting Center of the Civil War. Application packets can be picked up in the Multicultural Center (110 Powell). A $10.00 refundable deposit is required to apply. We will not take an application without a deposit. Please bring exact change. We are happy to announce that the College of Arts and Sciences is offering a $500 stipend to the graduating student chosen to give their speech at the Spring 2016 Graduation Ceremony!!
To be eligible students must have applied for Spring or Summer Graduation within the College of Arts & Sciences.
• Speeches should be 10 minutes/5-6 pages of double-spaced text
• MSWord or Rich Text Format, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, with normal one-inch margins.
• At the top of your text, include your full name, EKU ID number, major, expected degree, and department
Submit speeches before the end of day Monday, February 29, by sending an e-mail attachment of the text to Dr. Jennifer Spock (jennifer.spock@eku.edu).
Please include your available times for March 8 (tentative) so that we can schedule your interview.
Finalists will be informed no later than March 11, 2016.

The EKU Department of Philosophy and Religion is proud to announce that we now offer a minor in Applied Ethics. This new minor will help prepare students to deal more effectively with ethical issues in their personal and professional lives. Alternative breaks place teams of students in communities across the United States to engage in volunteer service and experiential learning. There are eight unique service trips being offered by Student Life for Spring Break 2016, and as well as one winter break trip. Limited spaces are still available on most of our Alternative Break trips including Charleston, Washington DC, the Outer Banks, Selma, New Orleans, and our In-State Trip. Campus Rec invites all children ages 5-12 to join us for a night of fun on Friday, February 12. We will have an inflatable obstacle course, climbing wall, games, crafts, and pizza. Parents can drop off children beginning at 5:00 pm at the Fitness and Wellness Center and pick up their children at 9:00 pm. You can register children for the event at the Fitness and Wellness Center welcome desk or download the registration form, and email a completed form to justin.raymer@eku.edu.
