Dr. Rodger Cleveland of the Educational Leadership Department will be leading a skills-building training to address Cultural Competency. The training will provide participants a foundation for understanding cultural competency, diversity, equity and inclusion through an organizational justice and culturally responsive lens. Participants will discuss individual skill development, and internal and external leadership strategies to begin to work towards developing cultural competent organizational culture. Participants will learn to analyze the perspectives of opposition forces through assessing points of view (belief systems) and assumptions generated by differing political systems, economic systems, cultures and religions. Logical argumentation used to prepare intelligence oral and written communications will also be covered. Participants will use the material on assessing points of view and assumptions and employ logical argumentation during a short case study team analysis session.
