Internationally recognized physicist Sylvester James Gates Jr. will present a Chautauqua keynote address for Celebration of Science and Mathematics Week titled "Einstein v. Roberts: Does Diversity Matter in Science?", tonight, Thurs. Sept. 14, 7:30 p.m. in O'Donnell Hall of the Whitlock Building. The event is free and open to the public. Attendance slips will be provided for students. Currently the Ford Foundation Professor of Physics at Brown University, Dr. Gates is one of the most distinguished scientists in America. A pioneer in the fields of supersymmetry, supergravity, and superstring theory, Gates is the author of "Superspace," the first major book on the subject, as well as "Superstring Theory: the DNA of Reality." He has served on the President's Council on Science & Technology, was awarded the National Medal of Science in 2013, and was named "Scientist of the Year" by the Harvard Foundation in 2014.

We are happy to announce that the College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences (CLASS) is offering a $500 stipend to a graduating student to present a commencement speech at the Fall 2017 Graduation Ceremony! To be eligible, you must have applied for Fall 2017 Graduation within CLASS. •Speeches should be about 5-6 minutes in length/4-6 pages of double-spaced text.
•MSWord or Rich Text Format, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, with normal one-inch margins

We run, they fly! Come out to our first annual run/walk and support those who spent their lives supporting us. We can't wait to see you there! Proceeds of the event will be donated to Honor Flight KY. Honor Flight is a non-profit organization solely created to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices. Honor Flight transports our heroes to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials that have been dedicated in their honor. These veterans are transported free of cost and it is Delta Zeta's goal to continue sending veterans on their next Honor Flight!
