The College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences (CLASS) is offering a $500 stipend to a graduating student to present a commencement speech at the Fall 2019 Graduation Ceremony. To be eligible, you must have applied for Fall or Winter 2019 Graduation within CLASS. •Speeches should be about 4-5 minutes in length, which is about 3-4 pages of double-spaced text.
•MSWord or Rich Text Format, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, with normal one-inch margins
•At the top of text please include full name, EKU ID number, major, expected degree, and department. Submit speeches before the end of the day Friday, October 11th, by sending an e-mail attachment of the text to Dr. Amy Thieme at amy.thieme@eku.edu. EKU has adopted a statement of Medical Amnesty. When a student finds themselves or another student’s safety at risk due to the use of alcohol or other drugs, they should contact the EKUPD immediately for medical assistance. Formal disciplinary action for violations of paragraphs 33, 34, and 35 of the General Regulations Concerning Student Behavior of the Student Handbook will not be enforced provided the involved students meet the criteria for amnesty.
