Belinda Hernandez-Arriaga is Assistant Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of San Francisco and Faculty Coordinator for the Masters in Counseling MFT program at the San Jose Campus. Belinda has a doctorate in Education, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with eighteen years of experience working in community mental health, with a specialization in child trauma and Latino Mental Health. She is also Founder and Chief Executive of Ayudando Latinos A Soñar (www.alashmb.org), a Latino cultural arts, education and social justice program dedicated to working with rural youth and families living on coastside. The College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences (CLASS) is offering a $500 stipend to a graduating student to present a commencement speech at the Fall 2019 Graduation Ceremony. To be eligible, you must have applied for Fall or Winter 2019 Graduation within CLASS.
•Speeches should be about 4-5 minutes in length, which is about 3-4 pages of double-spaced text.
•MSWord or Rich Text Format, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, with normal one-inch margins
•At the top of text please include full name, EKU ID number, major, expected degree, and department.
Submit speeches before the end of the day Friday, October 11th, by sending an e-mail attachment of the text to Dr. Amy Thieme at amy.thieme@eku.edu.
Interviews with finalists will be Friday, November 1st.
