Invasive plant species are a major conservation problem that land managers put vigorous money and effort into rectifying. For native species to benefit, control and suppression are just as crucial on private properties. This event will provide useful invasive species identification and removal techniques so that you can safely transform your backyard into a useful sanctuary for wildlife. The Dept. of Languages, Cultures, & Humanities is offering CHN 101 CRN 24261 Conversational Chinese 1 and FCC 210 CRN 21460 Chinese Culture through Cinema for Spring 2020! FCC 210 CRN 21460: Chinese Culture through Cinema is 3 credit hours fulfilling Gen Ed 3. Study films from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan and by diasporic Chinese film-makers from diverse critical perspectives and in historical contexts. Taught in English. CHN 101 CRN 24261: Conversational Chinese I is 3 credit hour fulfilling Gen Ed 6. An introduction to the grammar and structure of Chinese taught in cultural context. This course is for students with little or no experience with Chinese. Not open to native speakers of Chinese.

Chris Phillips will be presenting a ‘Sabermetric Forecasting’ model using an OLS regression model that includes key team statistics for batting, pitching, and defense. The regression equation determines the best team statistics to forecast team wins. Teams can forecast how improvements to these key team statistics can impact team wins over a single season. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Tunnel of Awareness is an interactive experience designed to explore and challenge perceptions about complex community issues. The event is drop-in style and participants generally spend 40 minutes at the event.

March with Hope's Wings as we take a strong stand against domestic violence in our community and celebrate those who choose not to use violence in their relationships. Green Dot and other community partners will be tabling at the event. There will be food trucks as well.

The Black Student Union and EKU NAACP are hosting a panel discussion event sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. There will be 4 guest panelists and the topic will be the importance of voting and political involvement in the Black community. There will also be food provided on a first come first serve basis!

Stop by the Main Library in your Halloween costume; we'll take your picture and let our Facebook followers determine the winners! Prizes will be given for Best Faculty/Staff Individual Costume, Best Student Individual Costume, and Best Group Costume. Groups are limited to a maximum of 6 individuals. We will also have a Halloween themed poster available to color. All student participants will have an opportunity to enter a contest to win access to a fully-stocked study room during Dead Week. The Boogie Bash is being put on for the students of EKU by NRHH. This event will feature a dance party, movies, and treats.
Also trick or treat campus resources that attend the event and learn about resources and organizations we have here at EKU that you can get involved in or may be helpful for you.
Come dressed up in a creative or spooky costume and you could participate for a chance to win the costume contest we will be having and get a spooky surprise.
So stop on by throughout the night and learn about resources on campus or take a break from studying, and dance with friends or watch a spooky movie. We hope to see you all there wearing your creative costumes! EKU Campus Rec's group fitness team will be spotlighting a different group fitness class each week starting today! All participants will receive various prizes for attending the spotlight class. The next group fitness class being spotlighted is POUND on October 21st at 8:45pm and all participants will receive a free pair of socks. REC 101 is a 5-week course introducing students to the exciting world of recreation, parks, event planning, recreation therapy, and tourism careers! Section 3 starts Tuesday, October 29 @ 3:30PM.

EKU Campus Recreation is offering a 2-day intensive workshop on November 9th - November 10th. Learn the ABC'S of Pilates Principles: Alignment, Breathing, Control and Stability. "Return to Life" through Pilates fundamental exercises. This course is designed to provide intensive, hands-on training at the beginner level. November 9-10, 8am-2pm
