The Young Professionals in Philanthropy presents: Halloween Trivia Night! Come join YPP for a game of spooky trivia and don't forget to bring a friend. There will be refreshments and a Halloween gift basket for the winner!

The Halloween component to the night's festivities will begin in the evening, with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. on the concourse level near the natatorium. Games and candy will be provided by the EKU Parks and Recreation department in the Fred Darling Auxiliary Gym. FREE PIZZA will also be available while supplies last. All children are encouraged to wear costumes, as there will be a kids' costume parade on the main floor of Alumni Coliseum. The official Hoopfest program will begin at 6:00 p.m., with opening performances by the EKU cheer and dance teams. Head coaches A.W. Hamilton & Samantha Williams will then introduce their teams, followed by Maroon vs. White scrimmages. Free EKU Hoopfest T-shirts will be distributed at the end of the event. Basketball season tickets are currently available to purchase. Fans can call the EKU Ticket Office at 844-3-GOBIGE for more information.

Chris Phillips will be presenting a ‘Sabermetric Forecasting’ model using an OLS regression model that includes key team statistics for batting, pitching, and defense. The regression equation determines the best team statistics to forecast team wins. Teams can forecast how improvements to these key team statistics can impact team wins over a single season. Everyone is welcome to attend!

APO National Service Week for 2019 is on Diabetes Awareness on Campus. This event will be a bake-off amongst RSO’s to bake diabetic-friendly treats/dishes. Each RSO will pay five dollars to participate. After baking a treat of their choice, we will showcase all of the food, allow students to try a bite of each dish, and then people donate any amount of money to vote on their favorite. The food with the most amount of money raised (votes) will get to split the proceeds with us for their charity of choice. Our half will go to a charity for diabetes. DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS NOVEMBER 1!

Spend the evening with EKU graduate and author, Ivy Brashear, as well as other contributors to the book Appalachian Reckoning: A Region Responds to Hillbilly Elegy. Panelists will spend the time discussing the book. The event will take place in The Allen Auditorium (Room 108) in the John Grant Crabbe Main Library.
