This semester La Mesa de Español will focus on Art. Professor Alvarez will be guiding attendees to the design and production of an art piece. Materials will be provided and art work will be exhibited in a collected exhibition by the end of the semester. La mesa will be meeting every other Wednesday 2:00-3:30PM. The first Philosophy and Religious Studies Roundtable of the semester will be a discussion of Cora Diamond's critique of the animals rights arguments of Peter Singer and Tom Regan, in her provocative essay, "Eating Meat and Eating People." Those interested may find her essay on JSTOR, but pre-reading is not necessary for participation in the discussion. Led by Matthew Pianalto, EKU Professor of Philosophy.

Do you believe you are food insecure?
A person is food insecure when they do not have access to enough food or enough variety and good quality food to lead a healthy life.
College students experience food insecurity at higher rates than the national average.
Food insecurity impacts students’ ability to succeed in college.
We are conducting a study at EKU titled ““A Longitudinal Study of Food Insecurity and Its Impacts on College Students”. This study will examine the impact of food insecurity on EKU students.
If you are an EKU student interested in sharing your experiences with food insecurity, please contact us.
You will be interviewed by our research team and complete a survey. It will take ~ 1 hour.
Participants will receive a $20 gift card to compensate them for their time.
