The Eastern Kentucky University Counseling Center (EKUCC) now offers after hours support to an EKU student or any person concerned about an EKU student. This is an extension of EKUCC services and can assist a caller in any mental health crisis situation. When appropriate, EKUCC staff will follow up with the caller on the university’s next business day. EKUCC After Hours is available weekends, evenings, holidays, and during university closures. This new service augments the existing full spectrum of clinical services provided at the EKU Counseling Center and extends the reach to more students, at critical times after hours when they may need the services. EKU Football hosts Houston Baptist THIS SATURDAY, October 3rd at 3 pm in its first home game this season at Roy Kidd Stadium. FREE maroon t-shirts will be available for pick-up at Gate 1, where students can also pick up their FREE ticket to the game with a valid EKU ID. Make plans to spend Saturday with us!

Coping with COVID is an affirming support group for students who have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and are in isolation. This is a weekly virtual support group offered three times per week.

Pathfinders is an affirming weekly support group for students who are first generation college students. At EKU, a student is considered "first gen" if they are the first in their family to attend a four-year university or if neither of their parents/guardians have completed a bachelor’s degree. Some first gen students may have older siblings who have attended college. This virtual group is provided by the EKU Counseling Center and is hosted through a secure video platform. The Noel Studio for Academic Creativity seeks to hire student academic Consultants and Course-Embedded Consultants (CECs). Javier Colon, the first winner of The Voice, will be performing at 9:00pm on September 29th! Javier will be remote, but we will be streaming the performance from Powell 219. A Zoom link will be provided to students who can't attend in person.

Join the staff of the EKU Counseling Center today for a workshop on Mindfulness. Being isolated in quarantine can lead to spending a lot of time on various activities that take your attention away from the present moment. Practicing mindfulness can be a great opportunity to improve your mental health by challenging yourself to be present and aware of your thoughts and feelings. In this workshop, you will learn tools that can help you practice mindfulness and work towards reducing and preventing stress, anxiety, depression, as well as many other concerns you may be experiencing.

Let’s Talk is a free, confidential consultation service offered through the EKU Counseling Center for currently enrolled EKU Students. Have a specific problem but unsure about counseling? Wonder what it's like to talk with a mental health therapist or psychologist? Concerned about a friend but not sure how to help? The EKU Counseling Center is providing easy access to informal, confidential conversations with our professional mental health clinicians!

The EKU R User Group meets the last Tuesday of each month (Fall 2020: September 29th - How to Read in Data, October 27th - Long/Wide Format, November 24th - Bring your Analysis). The R User Group is a free activity open to everyone on campus. The purpose of this group is to build a community of people interested in using the programming language R. The goal is to exchange ideas, collaborate, and provide support to one another. Participants at all levels of experience are welcome.
