FACULTY DEVELOPMENT: Essentials of Online Courses

The Instructional Design Center’s updated “PD1 - Essentials of Online Courses” online course is open and accepting enrollments. This is a self-paced course appropriate for anyone who is preparing to teach online and who wants to learn the tools and functionality of EKU’s Blackboard learning management system. Some previews of the new Blackboard SaaS will also be demonstrated.

PD1 is a comprehensive, fully online course that consists of a series of interactive tutorials on how to create and use various Blackboard tools and functions. Topics include early course logistics, course content and assessment creation, course communication and grading. The time commitment for completing this course is 6-10 hours. The course will conclude on Dec. 10.

Note: this is a foundational, Blackboard technology class that is a precursor to the IDC’s eight-week Online Course Development and Teaching Certificate Program (PD2).
