Beginning Monday, Feb. 25, randomly chosen EKU students and faculty will have an opportunity to complete an online survey to give IT feedback about our work and to compare EKU's IT support and services to other U.S. and international institutions. This feedback will help refine IT services and support. Participation is voluntary and responses are confidential. The link will be available in EKUDirect. IT has begun the rollout of faculty computers. These new computers are running Windows 10. Drop in to this training session to learn about the features and tools available in Windows 10 and to learn more about the new faculty rollout computers.

Educating our students in information literacy is a responsibility that is jointly shared by librarians and faculty members. In this interactive session, librarians will discuss offerings and opportunities for faculty to redesign instruction sessions, assignments, courses and even curricula to connect information literacy with student success initiatives. Participants will explore and brainstorm possibilities for deep, meaningful and creative collaboration with EKU Librarians that intentionally integrates information literacy and research skills within the discipline.

Join the EKU social work program to kick off Social Work Month. This year’s theme is "Elevate Social Work." Participants can earn up to five required social work CEUs, "Domestic Violence" (3 CEUs) and "Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma" (2 CEUs). There will be a livestream panel discussion about the profession designed by and for social work students. We will honor the work of “Dr. Bob” Karolich, who is retiring in May as well as notable alumni, affiliate faculty and students who "elevate social work" every day. This event is open to the public. The Spanish Conversation Club is hosting its second Mesa de Español this Thursday, Feb. 14. Everyone in the EKU community interested in practicing Spanish skills and learning about Latino and Hispanic cultures is welcome to join us. We will talk about friendship and love in the Spanish world. We will create St. Valentine-related art. Come and bring your friends.

To celebrate Chinese New Year 2019, the year of the pig, Shuling Studio from Lexington will present an authentic Chinese folk dance and Chinese fashion show at EKU. The audience will experience a variety of dances with classic Chinese props such as fans and umbrellas. Folk dance from ethnic groups like Han, Mongolian and Dai will illustrate different traditions and cultures. The fashion show theme will be Chinese blue porcelain art.

This event is sponsored by the University Diversity Office through the annual diversity grant.
