Staff Emeritus is a distinguished honor awarded to retired staff for considerable meritorious service to the University. The Staff Council, in conjunction with the Employee Recognition Committee, is now accepting nominations for Staff Emeritus candidates. To recommend a staff member who is retired or is in the process of retiring, please email a letter of nomination to Tarena.Tyree@eku.edu. Nominations will be accepted through September 5, 2019 and will be reviewed for eligibility as defined in the Staff Emeritus Policy. Nominators will then be asked to submit the required letters of recommendation as outlined in the policy. Honorees will be recognized at the Staff Council luncheon in December. Employee tuition waiver applications for fall are due August 23, 2019.
Per policy, waivers submitted after this date will be rejected. It is the employee's responsibility to submit their waiver. If you have a past due balance on your account, the waiver will not be processed. To learn more about the tuition waiver program go to https://hr.eku.edu/tuition-waiver.

Please join us to welcome the Class of 2023 at the Turner Gate Welcome Walk! We invite EKU faculty and staff to cheer on the Class of 2023 by lining the general Turner Gate area by 5:15PM. EKU Communications & Brand Management has wonderfully provided the Class of 2023 with EKU maroon t-shirts, of which faculty and staff who participate will receive one too. Shirts will be passed out at Faculty/Staff Convocation and at stations near the main Library entrance beginning at 5:00PM the day-of the event (while supplies last). Students will be welcomed by President Benson at 5:20PM, followed by the walk beginning at approximately 5:25PM. We hope you will join us to be a part of this Colonel tradition to welcome the Class of 2023!

Connect with students this fall by participating in the Ask Me! Campaign on Aug. 19 and 20 to help students navigate campus during the first two days of the fall semester. Student, staff or faculty Ask Me! volunteers will be stationed throughout campus on Monday (8/19) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday (8/20) from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. working one-hour shifts to answer questions and direct students to buildings and services.

If you are a student hiring official that would like to better understand the student employment hiring process, then this training is for you. The training will include general information about student employment regulations, and detailed information about submitting job postings in OES and submitting individual student jobs in the SWAN system for work clearance.
We have two training sessions available; one in the afternoon on Monday, August 5 from 2:00-3:00 and one in the morning on Tuesday, August 6 from 10:00-11:00. We'll see you there!
