Veterans Studies Invited Speaker – Lexington VAMC Chaplain Joseph White

The Kentucky Center for Veterans Studies (KCVS) regularly invites individuals with unique perspectives on veterans’ issues to speak to classes and the larger campus community. Join us for a talk with Joseph White, a Clinical Staff Chaplain for the Lexington VAHCS. Prior to Chaplaincy, Joe was an educator, teaching first at Model Lab School and later at Berea Community School. Joe enlisted in 1992 and commissioned in 2004, serving a cumulative 21 years in the United States Army Reserve. He deployed to the Middle East as a Space Operations Officer. You will learn about the moral and spiritual wounds of war, the impact of the deployment cycle on military families, and the role Chaplains play in providing spiritual care for veterans in the VA hospital system.
