Lethal Autonomous Weapons and Future Warfare

Join Dr. Amy Fletcher for a discussion about Lethal Autonomous Weapons (LAWS). Thirty countries have called for a global ban on LAWs, citing both the humanitarian consequences of ‘robot warfare’ and the need to have a human ‘in the loop’ of any decision to use lethal force. However, many see them as crucial to geopolitical power.

This presentation will introduce you to the global debate as Dr. Fletcher showcases years of research supported by a Marsden Foundation Grant from the Royal Society of New Zealand.

This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Psychology, Department of Government, and the Kentucky Center for Veterans Studies. It is open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the larger community.

Registration not required, but helpful. Use the link that says “More” below. The registration form can be accessed at the bottom of the flyer. Please share!
