Voluntary Statewide Tornado Safety Drill

Voluntary Statewide Tornado Safety Drill

Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 1-7, 2022. Kentucky Emergency Management, and the National Weather Service, are conducting a Statewide Tornado Safety Drill on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 10:07am.

If you are willing and able to participate, imagine that a tornado warning is happening, at that time.

Wherever you are, you can find a best available refuge area, by remembering to D.U.C.K.

D.U.C.K.
Go Down to the Lowest Level.
Get Under Something Sturdy.
Go to the Center of a Permanent Structure.
Keep Away from Exterior Doors and Windows.

This is a great time to think about what you would do if a tornado happened while at school, work, home, or play. Make a plan. Be prepared. More information about tornado safety is available at:

Madison County will not sound the sirens for this drill.
