TODAY - SCHOLARS WEEK KEYNOTE - Dr. Holden Thorp, Editor-in-Chief, Science
Dr. Holden Thorp, Editor-in-Chief of the Science family of journals, is the keynote speaker for this year's Scholars Week. He will give a brief talk, along with a substantive Q&A with Provost Sara Zeigler.
Dr. Thorp is the Rita Levi-Montalcini Distinguished University Professor and holds appointments in both chemistry and medicine at Washington University St. Louis. Before that, he spent three decades at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), where he served as the 10th chancellor from 2008 through 2013.
Thorp is a venture partner at Hatteras Venture Partners, a consultant to Ancora, and is on the board of directors of the College Advising Corps and Artizan Biosciences, as well as the coauthor of two books on higher education, and an accomplished musician.
