STATISTICS PRESENTATION: Is Classroom Time Important?

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics welcomes Dr. Amanda Ellis of the University of Kentucky, who will present "Is Classroom Time Important? A Comparison of Synchronous and Asynchronous Remote Delivery Modalities in an Introductory Biostatistics Course."

Over the last two years many academic institutions have had to shift courses traditionally offered in an in-class setting to an online environment. One consideration when offering online courses is the choice to offer the course synchronously or asynchronously. Presented here is the comparative effectiveness of two different instructional delivery methods in an online undergraduate biostatistics course: synchronous versus asynchronous.

There will be a brief ceremony for the Mu Sigma Rho (national statistics honor society) initiation prior to the presentation.
