Live Guitar Concert Tonight: The EKU Guitar Ensemble
The EKU Guitar Ensemble will perform works for jazz, classical and contemporary guitar on October 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Gifford Theater. This concert will feature hard-swinging jazz arrangements by C.Buzzelli (Trentonova) and D.Frackenpohl (Stylin'), jazz standards (Blue Monk and Yesterdays), a rock-inspiring rendering of works by Telemann, and Flirtin' with Disaster by Molly Hatchet. The acoustic set includes a Hungarian Dance by Brahms, an Air by Bach, and to celebrate Latin American Heritage Month, we will play the very feisty Tico-Tico No Fuba and Ponteio. No EKU guitar concert is complete without some Rock selections and several soloists will be featured. The EKU Guitar Ensemble is directed by Dr. Dennis Davis.
