Constitution Day Panel: The Constitution in Comparison

For Constitution Day, the Department of Government asks how the US Constitution compares with other democracies. Department of Government faculty will discuss the American, Mexican, Turkish, and Rwandan Constitutions and the different conceptions of Constitutional Democracy around the world. How do other countries hold elections? Are term limits necessary for democracy? Does a legislature need quotas for minority or women representatives? Are centralized governments more democratic than federal ones? Bring your questions for the panel!
