EKU Housing & Residence Life will host an event entitled S.H.O.E.S (Students Honoring Others Everyday Struggles) on April 8, 2021, Lower Powell Plaza from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. This event is focused on mental health and raising awareness to the struggle’s students face every day. The event will collect pairs of shoes and stories from faculty, staff, and students that will be displayed on campus. If you would like to donate any shoes, a collection box will be placed in Whitlock on the first floor and in each Residence Hall until March 26th. If you would like to share a story click on “More on This Announcement” and follow the instructions on the page. Please be on the lookout for more updates about the event. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus. However, as a reminder, CDC recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, which include: Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available. Stay home when you are sick. Social Distancing, maintaining physical space between yourself and other people in public spaces. At least 6 feet or about 2 arms' length from others. Masking, students are required to wear face masks/coverings while indoors or in situations when you could potentially be within 6' of others. Wearing your mask appropriately over your nose and mouth protects others as well as yourself. For more information please visit http://www.cdc.gov
