The Election Committee is hosting two mandatory informational meetings for potential candidates in the upcoming elections. Anyone who wishes to run for a position in the Student Government Association (SGA) must attend. For make-up meetings, individuals must email Chair Burchett by Monday at 8 pm. These meetings will cover overall information in the process of running for office either for the Executive Branch or Senate. Candidates need to only attend one of the meetings. Untapped Brilliance is a group for those living with ADHD. This group is designed to tap into the skills and talents that are a part of living with ADHD and develop strategies to use those gifts in every part of life. Grief group is a friendly, caring space shared with other EKU students coping with death of a loved one. While you may be experiencing one of life’s most difficult experiences, you don't have to go through the grieving process alone. Learning to belay is an important part of the climbing experience at the EKU climbing center, or outside at any natural cliff face. These clinics teach participants about equipment, knots, climbing skills, belay technique, catching falls, and lowering climbers; all with plenty of practice. Participants who have completed a workshop may then complete a free belay skills assessment to belay independently at the climbing wall. Register at mycampusrec.eku.edu

First-Year Leader (FYL): FYL’s are high-achieving students, role models, and mentors inside and outside the classroom through the Office of First-Year Courses. FYL’s are assigned to be a peer mentor within a GSD 101 – Foundations of Learning Freshmen Seminar Course where they will attend the class to offer support to first-year students. If selected to be a FYL, students would take a leadership course, GST 300 “Principles of Peer Mentoring/Tutoring,” and receive training throughout the semester along with accompanying an instructor in the classroom.
