The Kentucky Center for Veterans Studies (KCVS) regularly invites individuals with unique perspectives on veterans’ issues to speak to classes and the larger campus community. Join us for a talk with Eugene and Cindy Palka. Dr. Palka deployed to Afghanistan in 2002 and Iraq in 2009. He also served at West Point as Chair of the Geography Department, finishing his career at EKU as Vice President of Student Success. He and Cindy will tell the story of how they supported one another over 30+ years of service. Just as Dr. Palka supported servicemembers, Cindy played a pivotal role supporting military families. You will learn about the impact military service has on family units, the distinctiveness of military culture, and how the Palkas tapped into resiliency time and again as a military family. All are welcome! Register where it says “More” below.
