Enrollment at Burrier Child Development Center
The Burrier Child Development Center (BCDC) is an early childhood lab school program that is actively enrolling 3 and 4-year-olds for the 2021-2022 school year. We are located on campus, accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and have a 5-STAR rating by KY All Stars - Kentucky Department of Education and CHFS Division of Child Care. Join the EKU Counseling Center staff today for a workshop on Distress Tolerance. When life feels like you’re currently in the middle of an unfinished Jumanji game, your emotions can activate with a high degree of intensity. Changes in your daily routine and the people you’re around can lead to a mixture of emotions. These new experiences can be stressful. The tools provided in this workshop are aimed to provide you with skills to navigate these intense emotions and increase the positive experiences throughout your day.

This group is for individuals that have been negatively impacted by growing up in an alcoholic, drug addicted or otherwise unpredictable family environment. Topics often discussed include understanding the impact of these family patterns, learning how to recognize and develop healthy relationships, and addressing negative beliefs about oneself. This is a weekly virtual group provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform.
