This event is open to all EKU veteran and military students and cadets, their families and invited guests only. Looking for ways to get involved at EKU and help others at the same time? The EKU Service to Scholars Peer Sponsorship program is a volunteer program designed to provide help and support to incoming student veterans transitioning from military service to college life, by connecting them with other experienced student veterans who have “walked the walk” recently, and want to help others do the same successfully. This program is also open to online students. Click below for more information about how you can get started as an STS Peer Sponsor at EKU!

When a student finds themselves or another student’s safety at risk due to the use of alcohol or other drugs, they should contact the EKUPD immediately for medical assistance. Formal disciplinary action for violations of paragraphs 33, 34, and 35 of the General Regulations Concerning Student Behavior of the Student Handbook will not be enforced provided the involved students meet the criteria for amnesty. You wont be punished for helping a friend. If someone needs medical attentional because of drugs or alcohol, they and you are protected by medical amnesty. Just call, stay, and cooperate. Come to the Roark 205 at 4:30pm on Wednesday, August 18, to hear about the EKU Mock Trial experience from participating students and faculty. Students selected for the team will earn course credit (POL 466, 2 credits per semester) while traveling the country and competing as attorneys and/or witnesses in several weekend tournaments throughout the year. Audition signups will be available at the meeting. Interested students who cannot make either information session should email Thomas Parker at thomas.parker@eku.edu for more information.

Advocates have 2 primary roles - providing outreach to the University community and advocating for students going through the conduct process. Being an Advocate provides valuable leadership training, critical thinking skills, and is a great addition to a resume. Being isolated in quarantine can lead to spending a lot of time on various activities that take your attention away from the present moment. Practicing mindfulness can be a great opportunity to improve your mental health by challenging yourself to be present and aware of your thoughts and feelings. In this workshop, you will learn tools that can help you practice mindfulness and work towards reducing and preventing stress, anxiety, depression, as well as many other concerns you may be experiencing.
