Affirm is a collaborative group working toward acceptance through education and open discussion toward LGBTQ+ life experiences. This is a virtual therapy group through the EKU Psychology Clinic, is conducted by EKU Clinical Psychology doctoral students, and hosted through Zoom. Interview days will be August 30, September 13, and September 20. Interested participants must physically be in Kentucky and be at least 18 years old. Beyond Labels is an affirming support group for students who have and/or are questioning having LGBTQ* identities. This is a weekly virtual support group provided by the EKU Counseling Center. Color Coded is a safe space for students of color to express and discuss personal experiences with other EKU students of color. Join Adventure Programs as we journey around Campus Beautiful, solving riddles and learning useful navigation skills in the process!

Grief is a normal and natural response to loss. It can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and complicated. Grief group is safe space to receive support, learn to cope, and to connect with other students who are also adjusting to the death of a friend, family member, or loved one. This weekly virtual group is provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform. A group orientation is required to join this group. Pathfinders is an affirming weekly support group for students who are first generation college students. At EKU, a student is considered "first gen" if they are the first in their family to attend a four-year university or if neither of their parents/guardians have completed a bachelor’s degree. Some first gen students may have older siblings who have attended college. This virtual group is provided by the EKU Counseling Center and is hosted through a secure video platform.

When a student finds themselves or another student’s safety at risk due to the use of alcohol or other drugs, they should contact the EKUPD immediately for medical assistance. Formal disciplinary action for violations of paragraphs 33, 34, and 35 of the General Regulations Concerning Student Behavior of the Student Handbook will not be enforced provided the involved students meet the criteria for amnesty. You wont be punished for helping a friend. If someone needs medical attentional because of drugs or alcohol, they and you are protected by medical amnesty. Just call, stay, and cooperate. Join the EKU Counseling Center staff today for a workshop on Distress Tolerance. When life feels like you’re currently in the middle of an unfinished Jumanji game, your emotions can activate with a high degree of intensity. Changes in your daily routine and the people you’re around can lead to a mixture of emotions. These new experiences can be stressful. The tools provided in this workshop are aimed to provide you with skills to navigate these intense emotions and increase the positive experiences throughout your day.

Cabaret is an EKU tradition that has been spicing up Thursday nights with live performances for years and we are so happy to be back in person!
