La Mesa de Español is back this Wednesday Aug. 25 at 5PM!!! La mesa is the Spanish conversation club at EKU, a weekly discussion group that meets on campus and/or on zoom to acquire Spanish conversation skills and learn about the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Attendance is documented for extra-credit purposes; your professor will receive notification towards the end of the semester. Prepare for that study abroad trip, be ready for your next oral exam, join the global community of bilingual speakers or simply connect with other members EKU community and make new friends. All levels are welcome!!! Meetings will be in the basement of McCreary Hall and on Zoom. Affirm is a collaborative group working toward acceptance through education and open discussion toward LGBTQ+ life experiences. This is a virtual therapy group through the EKU Psychology Clinic, is conducted by EKU Clinical Psychology doctoral students, and hosted through Zoom. Interview days will be August 30, September 13, and September 20. Interested participants must physically be in Kentucky and be at least 18 years old. Support without Borders is an affirming support group for multicultural students and international students. This is a weekly virtual support group provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform. This group is for individuals that have been negatively impacted by growing up in an alcoholic, drug addicted or otherwise unpredictable family environment. Topics often discussed include understanding the impact of these family patterns, learning how to recognize and develop healthy relationships, and addressing negative beliefs about oneself. This is a weekly virtual group provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform. A group orientation is required to join this group. Are you having a hard time staying motivated? In this workshop we will discuss factors that impact motivation, as well as ways to stay motivated during these uncertain times. Join EKUCC clinician Nick Rogell, LPCC for this workshop on how to address motivation to improve your personal performance.

Join the staff of the EKU Counseling Center today for a workshop on Mindfulness. Being isolated in quarantine can lead to spending a lot of time on various activities that take your attention away from the present moment. Practicing mindfulness can be a great opportunity to improve your mental health by challenging yourself to be present and aware of your thoughts and feelings. In this workshop, you will learn tools that can help you practice mindfulness and work towards reducing and preventing stress, anxiety, depression, as well as many other concerns you may be experiencing.
