La mesa is the Spanish conversation club at EKU, a discussion group meeting weekly on campus and on zoom to acquire Spanish conversation skills and learn about the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. It is a fun, informal environment where Spanish learners connect with peers, native speakers, faculty and friends of the learning community. Attendance is documented. Refreshments provided

Join EKUCC for a night to remember at the Planetarium.
Get on Uranus and Meditate is an annual event put on by the EKUCC and Campus Recreation that encourages students to take a break from the busy semester, and find some peace at the planetarium. Come by for a brief stretching activity, followed by a guided meditation at the Planetarium.
Shirts may be available on a limited basis for students that complete the activity.

Looking for ways to get involved at EKU and help others at the same time? Need some extra support as a new student veteran? The EKU Service to Scholars Peer Sponsorship program is a volunteer program designed to provide help and support to incoming student veterans transitioning from military service to college life, by connecting them with other experienced student veterans who have “walked the walk” recently, and want to help others do the same successfully. Join the EKU Counseling Center staff today for a workshop on Distress Tolerance. When life feels like you’re currently in the middle of an unfinished Jumanji game, your emotions can activate with a high degree of intensity. Changes in your daily routine and the people you’re around can lead to a mixture of emotions. These new experiences can be stressful. The tools provided in this workshop are aimed to provide you with skills to navigate these intense emotions and increase the positive experiences throughout your day.

Support without Borders is an affirming support group for multicultural students and international students. This is a weekly virtual support group provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform. This group is for individuals that have been negatively impacted by growing up in an alcoholic, drug addicted or otherwise unpredictable family environment. Topics often discussed include understanding the impact of these family patterns, learning how to recognize and develop healthy relationships, and addressing negative beliefs about oneself. This is a weekly virtual group provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform. A group orientation is required to join this group. When a student finds themselves or another student’s safety at risk due to the use of alcohol or other drugs, they should contact the EKUPD immediately for medical assistance. Formal disciplinary action for violations of paragraphs 33, 34, and 35 of the General Regulations Concerning Student Behavior of the Student Handbook will not be enforced provided the involved students meet the criteria for amnesty. You wont be punished for helping a friend. If someone needs medical attentional because of drugs or alcohol, they and you are protected by medical amnesty. Just call, stay, and cooperate.
