Join Dr. Amy Fletcher for a discussion about Lethal Autonomous Weapons (LAWS). Thirty countries have called for a global ban on LAWs, citing both the humanitarian consequences of ‘robot warfare’ and the need to have a human ‘in the loop’ of any decision to use lethal force. However, many see them as crucial to geopolitical power. This presentation will introduce you to the global debate as Dr. Fletcher showcases years of research supported by a Marsden Foundation Grant from the Royal Society of New Zealand. This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Psychology, Department of Government, and the Kentucky Center for Veterans Studies. It is open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the larger community. Registration not required, but helpful. Use the link that says “More” below. The registration form can be accessed at the bottom of the flyer. Please share!

Event Date: November 023:30 PM  Location: O'Donnell Auditorium  Cost: Free

Held each year on Veterans Day, the National Roll Call pays tribute to our American military servicemembers and civilians who have made the ultimate sacrifice over the past two decades during the Global War on Terror. By reading aloud the names of our fallen, it serves as an opportunity for the campus and local community to participate and show their commitment and support for these heroes. Students are encouraged to volunteer as a reader. Each volunteer will read 120 names. Click the link below to select from the available time slots.

Last year, Colonel's Cupboard Virtual Food Drive donors helped us raise more than $10,000 to feed students in need! Will you join us to make an even bigger impact this month during our annual virtual campaign? Your financial contribution will help us provide essential fresh foods like vegetables, fruits, eggs, and milk, as well as frozen foods. Will you make a gift today and help us reach our goal of 350 gifts before December 1? Every gift makes an impact. A $5 gift will provide five meals, so the support you provide will give relief to many students at EKU. Be sure to indicate your student organization or department when you make your gift because we will announce the department and organization with the most donors at the end of the campaign.
