This Wednesday and Thursday Nov. 3 & 4, the Spanish faculty will reserve the day to advise students who may have questions or need help registering for courses and/or have questions about the Spanish major or minor. El Día de los Muertos Masquerade is a cultural event that promotes awareness of what Día de los Muertos symbolizes. It honors those that have passed away. Join us in celebration at this event where we will have Folkloric dance performances, authentic Mexican food, presentation, and time for everyone to dance!

Join Dr. Amy Fletcher for a discussion about Lethal Autonomous Weapons (LAWS). Thirty countries have called for a global ban on LAWs, citing both the humanitarian consequences of ‘robot warfare’ and the need to have a human ‘in the loop’ of any decision to use lethal force. However, many see them as crucial to geopolitical power. This presentation will introduce you to the global debate as Dr. Fletcher showcases years of research supported by a Marsden Foundation Grant from the Royal Society of New Zealand. This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Psychology, Department of Government, and the Kentucky Center for Veterans Studies. Come and get your groove on with the men of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity! We will have a dance instructor give the campus community free lessons of popular Latin American dances such as salsa, merengue, and bachata. The event will take place on November 2 at the Keen Johnson ballroom from 6-8pm.

Join us for the final event in the series, No Skirting Around: The Misbehaved Women of Eastern's History. Each event will take place in the John Grant Crabbe Main Library in Room 128. These events are free and open to the public.

Beyond Labels is an affirming support group for students who have and/or are questioning having LGBTQ* identities. This is a weekly virtual support group provided by the EKU Counseling Center. Color Coded is a safe space for students of color to express and discuss personal experiences with other EKU students of color. This discussion-based support group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 2-3pm and is hosted by a secure video platform. Grief is a normal and natural response to loss. It can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and complicated. Grief group is safe space to receive support, learn to cope, and to connect with other students who are also adjusting to the death of a friend, family member, or loved one. This weekly virtual group is provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform. A group orientation is required to join this group. Pathfinders is an affirming weekly support group for students who are first generation college students. At EKU, a student is considered "first gen" if they are the first in their family to attend a four-year university or if neither of their parents/guardians have completed a bachelor’s degree. Some first gen students may have older siblings who have attended college. This virtual group is provided by the EKU Counseling Center and is hosted through a secure video platform.
