The department of Alumni and Donor Engagement is accepting applications for Phonathon Callers on a regular basis. When an opening is available, your application will be considered in the candidate pool. Student employees call Eastern alumni to ask for contributions to the Eastern Fund. The work environment in competitive, yet fun and rewarding. Callers must work at least three of the four shifts available per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 pm-9:30 pm. Pay: $8/hour Should your application be considered, you will be contacted by the hiring official by email.

Join our KY Ready Corps AmeriCorps program, as our Social Media Manager! We are seeking a member to serve 10 hours per week to manage and maintain our social media accounts for recruitment and program promotion purposes. Members can serve a total of 100 hours between February-May, or 300 hours between February-August, about 12 service hours per week, working directly with our new Member Manager. Benefits include a living allowance (300 hours) and education award for educational expenses at end of service (both 100 and 300 hours). Deadline to apply is January 20, 2022, with service beginning. The Kentucky Center for Veterans Studies Service to Service podcast will help you understand veterans, one story at a time. Sam sits down with Dr. Scott Parrott, head of the University of Alabama’s Veterans and Media Lab. His research examines portrayals of veterans in the media and how they shape outside perceptions of topics such as veteran mental health. Sam and Dr. Parrott discuss things that media and pop culture commonly get wrong, how inaccurate portrayals of veterans influence society, and how past and future research conducted through the Veterans and Media Lab can help us think about these issues in new ways.
