EKU Libraries is pleased to announce two new library resources, Proquest Black Studies and Columbia Granger's World of Poetry. Proquest Black Studies includes primary and secondary sources such as leading historical Black newspapers, archival documents and collections, key government materials, videos, writings by major Black intellectuals and leaders, scholarly journals, and essays by top scholars in Black Studies. Columbia Granger's World of Poetry provides access to more than 300,000 poems as well as poet biographies and commentaries. This group is for individuals that have been negatively impacted by growing up in an alcoholic, drug addicted or otherwise unpredictable family environment. Topics often discussed include understanding the impact of these family patterns, learning how to recognize and develop healthy relationships, and addressing negative beliefs about oneself. This is a weekly in-person group provided by the EKU Counseling Center. A group orientation is required to join this group. Join the EKU Counseling Center staff today for a workshop on Distress Tolerance. When life feels like you’re currently in the middle of an unfinished Jumanji game, your emotions can activate with a high degree of intensity. Changes in your daily routine and the people you’re around can lead to a mixture of emotions. These new experiences can be stressful. The tools provided in this workshop are aimed to provide you with skills to navigate these intense emotions and increase the positive experiences throughout your day.

Student Organizations are encouraged to nominate up to 2 students for Homecoming Royalty. Nominations can be submitted until September 12 at 4pm. The nomination form can be found here: homecoming.eku.edu/Nomination QUALIFICATIONS FOR CANDIDATES:
1. Must be a FULL TIME student at Eastern Kentucky University.
2. Must have a minimum 2.0 Cumulative grade point average.
3. Must not be on University probation. Entry fee ($20) for each candidate is to be paid by cash or check (paid to the EKU Homecoming Committee). Payments can be delivered to the Office of Student Life & FYE or the EKU Alumni Office.
If an organization fails to pay the entry fee by Monday, September 12 by 4 p.m., their candidate will not be included in the nominee pool. Students cannot self nominate.
