Our EKU AmeriCorps Program, KY Ready Corps, is seeking a team of 4 members to assist with a sustainable garden project sponsored by the Catholic Action Center in Lancaster! Members will complete harvesting and winter garden/greenhouse preparations (Fall), engage in planting and tending the garden (Spring) as well as preparing donations to location food pantries. Animal tending may include chickens, sheep and bees. Benefits include a $2200-$3900 total living allowance and $1374-$2474 education award (amounts dependent on service hour slot), and professional development opportunities, including service counting towards internship credit. EKU's AmeriCorps KY Ready program is seeking two members to serve with the God's Outreach Madison County Food Pantry in 22-23! Members will serve from 10/1/22-5/15/23, approximately 10-12 service hours per week, assisting with food donation management and distribution and supporting their current volunteer base. Benefits include a $2200 total living allowance, a $1317 education award at end of service that can be applied to educational expenses and student loans. Members also receive professional training from AmeriCorps on a wide variety of topics including disaster services. Deadline to apply is September 26, 2022.
