The CIEGE team is excited to announce that EKU has launched their Preferred/Chosen Name Change process for students! Do you go by “Billy” instead of a “William” or “Tina” instead of a “Martina”? Do you use your middle name instead of your first name? Maybe you have a name that doesn’t match your gender? No matter the reason, the name you use everyday can now appear in the places you use it the most!
To update your name across various EKU platforms such as Blackboard and MyEKU, please fill out the “Declaration of Personal Information” Form: https://success.eku.edu/register/infochangesstudents. Instructions to update the name that appears on your email can also be found on this form. Event Date: September 13

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics will hold its first Coffee Time event of 2022-2023 at 2:30 p.m. on September 21 with graduate student Claire Hollins, who will present "Devising Divisibility Rules for Fibonacci Numbers."
The Fibonacci sequence, being one of the most famous recurrences, has vast amounts of research behind the numbers. However, the more research collected, the more questions are posed. How do the Fibonacci numbers relate? Do patterns of divisibility exist within the numbers? What does the greatest common divisor of two Fibonacci numbers state about divisibility? We will discuss the rules the Fibonacci numbers hold and how to derive them.
Coffee and cookies will be provided.
