The EKU McNair Scholars Program is an extracurricular graduate school prep program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. McNair is recruiting talented students aiming for doctoral degrees. Selected students begin this fall 2022 semester. Program activities include faculty mentoring, a fall colloquium, a spring research class, a paid summer research internship, presentations at national conferences, graduate admission test preparation, graduate school application support, graduate school application fee waivers, an EKU scholarship, and graduate level assistantships and fellowships at leading universities. Applicants must be first-generation students from low-income backgrounds and/or Black, Hispanic, American Indian or Pacific Islander. Currently, eligible students who are sophomores, juniors, and seniors may apply. Please email the program director at rich.richmond@eku.edu to schedule an informational interview.

For Deaf Awareness Month, EKU Libraries wishes to commemorate and celebrate the various D/deaf communities around the world by highlighting the Dennis Cokely American Freedom Speeches Parallel Corpus, which features six English to ASL translations of famous speeches, including The Stuggle for Justice by Cesar Chavez and On Human Rights by Jimmy Carter.

This interpersonal process group provides a safe space for you to learn more about how you interact with others, and how these interactions impact your beliefs about yourself and others. Group members explore thoughts and feelings, practice giving and receiving feedback, and experience new ways of connecting and interacting with others. Common things often discussed include trust, self-confidence, honesty, loneliness, life adjustments, and other similar topics.

Choosing Habits is a support group designed for students who have struggled with harmful habits (i.e. drugs, alcohol, unhealthy relationships, social media, food, etc.) in the past and are looking for a space on campus to help maintain healthy changes.
