Latinx Street Fair - Latinx Heritage Month Sep 15 - Oct 15 is Latinx Heritage Month. Come join us for an incredible cultural experience at the Latinx Street Fair!

Come to Pride in the Plaza to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community at EKU with DJ Tino Dollars, drag performers, vintage clothes vendors, and a Boba Tea + Donut food truck! Pride in the Plaza also exposes students to the LGBTQ+ resources available at EKU and throughout the region. Come for the free food and swag (T-Shirts and more!) but stay for the fun!

Giving blood is an opportunity to give to the community in a very real way. Even though the process is simple and doesn't require much time at all, the fact is that without regular blood donors, there are people in our community who wouldn't be alive. Please join Student Life, Student Alumni Ambassadors and the Kentucky Blood Center to give back to your fellow Kentuckians! Walk-ins welcomed. Stop by Powell 108 to check for available appointments. All donors will receive a free T-shirt (while supplies last)!

The McNair Scholars Program continues to seek talented students. McNair is an extracurricular graduate school prep program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. McNair scholars aim for doctoral degrees. Selected students begin this fall 2022 semester. Program activities include faculty mentoring, a fall colloquium of workshops, a spring research class, a paid summer research internship, presentations at national conferences, graduate admission test preparation, graduate school application support, graduate school application fee waivers, an EKU scholarship, and graduate-level assistantships and fellowships at leading universities. Applicants must be first-generation students from low-income backgrounds and/or Black, Hispanic, American Indian, or Pacific Islander. Please email the program director at rich.richmond@eku.edu to schedule an informational interview to learn how the program works and how to apply!

Current students are encouraged to vote for their top four (4) homecoming candidates. Voting is open until 11:59pm on Tuesday, October 11 on myEKU.

A small festival of local vendors to promote a local economy and sustainable consumption. Some vendors include: Hopscotch Home Co.,Taylor Made Glass, and Sweet Treats by Brittany. Food trucks will be available as well!

All MAT 112A students are welcome to join us in the Center for STEM Excellence (SCIBD Atrium; use https://success.eku.edu/register/?id=36c191a6-b28b-4e21-8453-1ce93e4a3a7b to register to participate in person) or via Zoom (https://eku.zoom.us/j/99761796548) for a free, optional review session. All questions about the course content are welcome. Handouts will be provided for in-person attendees and electronic copies will be provided to Zoom participants to guide the exam review, as needed. Looking to get fit in a fun way? A variety of group fitness classes are offered at the Student Recreation Center throughout the week, free of charge. Join a class to get a great workout in a fun, social setting. Click the link below to register.

Beyond Labels is an affirming support group for students who have and/or are questioning having LGBTQ* identities. This DROP-IN support group meets weekly on Mondays in Room 567 of the Whitlock Building and is provided by the EKU Counseling Center.
