It's almost time for EKU Libraries' annual costume contest! Join us October 24th-October 28th in submitting your best Halloween costumes; submissions will be accepted via email or social media Monday, October 24th through Friday, October 28th at noon. Submissions should be emailed to Christina.Stallard@eku.edu or sent to EKU Libraries on Facebook or Instagram via direct message. Submissions should include name(s), department, costume description, and contact info for the submitter. The Library will have a photo station set up, but participants are welcome to take their photo anywhere. Voting will take place Friday, October 28th- Sunday, October 30th via a Google form (so everyone without Facebook can participate, too). The winners will be announced Monday, October 31st.

Signs ups for the Haunted Halloween Cabaret end Tuesday 10/18 at midnight! Join us in performance with some spooky spectacular acts of singing, dancing, and skits!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year again: American Archives Month! Join us in celebration with special presentations by EKU Grad and former McNair Scholar, Jacob Johnson, and EKU faculty, Dr. Heather Fox. Johnson will present "Hell in the Hollows: Community Response to Strip Mining in Eastern Kentucky from 1946-1981." Dr. Fox will present "From Research to Teaching: Recovering & Discovering in the Archives." Both presenters will speak on how they make connections through discovery and interpretation of materials in EKU Special Collections and Archives. On top of it all, we'll be presenting our own exhibit. It's a three-in-one extravaganza! Refreshments and exhibit unveiling starting at 4 p.m. in the Grand Reading Room of the John G. Crabbe Library, followed by presentations. We hope to see you there!

Stop by lower Case and check out some creepy books just in time for Halloween! We'll be hosting a Pop-Up Library from 11am-2pm and will be giving out candy and other goodies, too!

Due to the Homecoming Parade, the upper west side of the Alumni Coliseum lot will be closing at 3:30 PM, Oct 21. Please move all vehicles by that time or vehicles can be towed at the owner's expense.

An ofrenda is a memorial setting for loved ones who have passed before us. In Mexico, this tradition comes as a preparation to welcome the souls of the departed who will visit during Dia de los Muertos. In other Latin cultures, memorial settings like ofrendas can be left up all year!

The EKU Counseling Center is providing easy access to informal, confidential conversations with our professional mental health clinicians!

Color Coded is a safe space for students of color to express and discuss personal experiences with other EKU students of color. This discussion-based DROP-IN support group is provided by the EKU Counseling Center and meets weekly on Tuesdays from 2-3pm in Whitlock Building, Room 567.
