The Student Social Work Association is partnering with Scholar House here on campus and collecting items for single parent families! Please consider donating food items such as stuffing mixes, cans of corn, cans of green beans, cans of peas, cans of diced tomatoes, cans of pasta sauce, cans of fruit, cans of soup, pasta noodles, boxes of rice, boxes of mashed potatoes, boxes of mac n cheese, jars of peanut butter, saltine crackers, pancake mixes, bags of cereal, bags of sweets (like cookies or candy), turkey or ham. Please drop off donations in the Student Lounge in Keith 208 or you can donate money for us to go out and buy the food! You can venmo money to Holli-Blair-1 or Madison-Roberts-106. Please have donations in by November 21!

This group is for individuals that have been negatively impacted by growing up in an alcoholic, drug addicted or otherwise unpredictable family environment. Topics often discussed include understanding the impact of these family patterns, learning how to recognize and develop healthy relationships, and addressing negative beliefs about oneself. This is a weekly in-person group provided by the EKU Counseling Center. A group orientation is required to join this group. Join the EKU Counseling Center staff today for a workshop on Distress Tolerance. When life feels like you’re currently in the middle of an unfinished Jumanji game, your emotions can activate with a high degree of intensity. Changes in your daily routine and the people you’re around can lead to a mixture of emotions. These new experiences can be stressful. The tools provided in this workshop are aimed to provide you with skills to navigate these intense emotions and increase the positive experiences throughout your day.
