This group is for individuals that have been negatively impacted by growing up in an alcoholic, drug addicted or otherwise unpredictable family environment. Topics often discussed include understanding the impact of these family patterns, learning how to recognize and develop healthy relationships, and addressing negative beliefs about oneself. This is a weekly group provided by the EKU Counseling Center. A group orientation is required to join this group. Campus Recreation is looking for experienced swim lessons instructors. Instructors will be responsible for both group and private lessons with a minimum age of 3yr old participants. A student worker position is available to support the Talking Out of School monthly storytelling event. Responsibilities include a variety of administrative and marketing duties. Twenty hours each week are available, which may be distributed among several student workers depending on the candidates and their schedules, skills, and experiences. Pay is $10/hour. MLK Community Day honors the lives and legacies of civil rights leaders through the words and reflections of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It is a day for EKU students, staff, and faculty to give back to themselves, each other, and our community through acts of service, creativity, and self-reflection. All community members are welcome to attend the community breakfast, followed by community service projects and a special EKU mural painting inspired by the legacy of MLK.
*Service hour credit will be provided for students.
