The 27th Annual Environmental Health Symposium is here! We have a lineup of speakers from USPHS, National Park Service, FDA, Bechtel, and Lockheed Martin ready to talk about their experiences and possible career opportunities for graduates. Students may attend for free, or pay $10 for a light breakfast and a lunch from the local restaurant Jackson’s! A raffle for EHS T-shirts/crewnecks will also be available at the end of the symposium. First-Year Leader (FYL): FYL’s are high-achieving students, role models, and mentors inside and outside the classroom through the Office of First-Year Courses. FYL’s are assigned to be a peer mentor within a GSD 101 – Foundations of Learning Freshmen Seminar Course where they will attend the class to offer support to first-year students. If selected to be a FYL, students would take a leadership course, GST 300 “Principles of Peer Mentoring/Tutoring,” and receive training throughout the semester along with accompanying an instructor in the classroom.
