The 27th Annual Environmental Health Symposium is here! We have a lineup of speakers from USPHS, National Park Service, FDA, Bechtel, and Lockheed Martin ready to talk about their experiences and possible career opportunities for graduates. First-Year Leader (FYL): FYL’s are high-achieving students, role models, and mentors inside and outside the classroom through the Office of First-Year Courses. FYL’s are assigned to be a peer mentor within a GSD 101 – Foundations of Learning Freshmen Seminar Course where they will attend the class to offer support to first-year students. If selected to be a FYL, students would take a leadership course, GST 300 “Principles of Peer Mentoring/Tutoring,” and receive training throughout the semester along with accompanying an instructor in the classroom.
