Are you 18-25 years old, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and an EKU student? You are invited to join a one-hour virtual focus group in April. Our research study goal is to get your perspective on the ways you experienced stigma in middle and high school. We also want to know about your ways of coping with LGBTQIA+ stigma and suggestions for making schools safer and more supportive for youth. Your information stays anonymous but your ideas will be shared with leaders and school administrators in an attempt to bring about change and awareness to how LGBTQIA+ individuals are treated in schools. Studying for math is different from most other subjects. This workshop focuses on math-specific study skills that can help you be successful in your math classes. Registration is not required.

When we are stressed, it can be hard to operate at our best. When we are stressed and then have to complete tasks that will be graded or evaluated, it can feel impossible to be our best. This workshop focuses on ways to improve test anxiety, improving personal motivation for the things that need to get done, as well as how to set effective and attainable goals. Join EKUCC clinician Rachel Cvengros, M.A. for this workshop on how to improve your personal performance.

Case studies are a tried and true pedagogical method used across many disciplines because it promotes higher order critical thinking, research skills and problem solving while presenting opportunities for reinforcing concepts and theory. EKU Libraries' Sage Business Cases (SBC) is incredibly diverse and includes case studies that support students in disciplines and programs, such as business management, education, criminal justice, health science, psychology and more! Many cases are accompanied by teaching notes, articulated learning outcomes, and supplementary materials. Consider creating an active learning activity for your students today using case studies from SBC!

Leveling Up is a group that provides interpersonal support as participants navigate D&D campaigns together. This is a weekly group provided by the EKU Counseling Center. This interpersonal process group provides a safe space for you to learn more about how you interact with others, and how these interactions impact your beliefs about yourself and others. Group members explore thoughts and feelings, practice giving and receiving feedback, and experience new ways of connecting and interacting with others. Common things often discussed include trust, self-confidence, honesty, loneliness, life adjustments, and other similar topics.
