EKU Giles Gallery ushers in the fall semester with a trio of solo exhibits across the newly renovated three levels. The upper gallery hosts 'Be • Hold,' featuring sabbatical work by Prof. Felicia Szorad. The mezzanine gallery showcases 'Cosmetic Construction,' paintings by Lennon Michalski (Class of 2004). Our lower gallery displays 'Sightseeing Around Circular Dreams,' work by Dr. Ilona Szekely. The exhibits will be on view from Aug 21 - Sept 15. Meet the artists at a public reception on Thursday, Sept 7 from 5-7PM. The exhibitors will offer artist talks on Thursday, Sept 14 from 5-6PM. Programming is free and open to the public, made possible by the School of Art & Design, Institute of Creative & Collaborative Arts, College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences, and Office of the Provost. Silent Coffee is a time for students, members of the Deaf community, and anyone interested in American Sign Language (ASL) to come together and practice ASL while building relationships and hanging out. Silent Coffee is a voice off event; however, we encourage people with ANY level of proficiency in ASL to join us!

Start from Now is a group to support those dealing with body image issues and/or disordered eating patterns through a blend of education and discussion. This group is for individuals that have been negatively impacted by growing up in an alcoholic, drug addicted or otherwise unpredictable family environment. Topics often discussed include understanding the impact of these family patterns, learning how to recognize and develop healthy relationships, and addressing negative beliefs about oneself.
