Madison County EMA/CSEPP will be conducting tests of the new outdoor warning sirens in Madison County. A sound check is scheduled for September 14th, at 10:00 a.m. This test will last 3-5 minutes and will consist of a short "Growl" tone. These sounds do NOT indicate an emergency and NO action is required of the public. Tests will NOT be conducted if severe weather is expected. Residents should note these important upcoming changes to the outdoor warning siren system:
• New sirens will *not* have voiceovers after the warning sound
• New sirens will only alert for tornado warnings – sirens will NOT sound for any watches, nor for thunderstorm warnings
• New sirens will use three tones:
o Test tone: a high wail lasting 30 seconds
o Tornado warning: a high wail lasting 60 seconds
o Chemical emergency: an alternating high and low siren lasting 60 seconds

In recognition of September 2023 as World Suicide Prevention Month, there will be the screening of the Documentary on Kevin Hines, suicide survivor and nationally renowned spokes person on suicide prevention. This is an effort to build awareness, and education to promote mental health and suicide prevention on our campus.

Due to a multiple day event, parking restrictions will be enforced at the EKU Center for the Arts from midnight Sunday, September 10 through Midnight Thursday, September 14. EKU Center for the Arts side lot and back parking lot will be closed through event time. Alternate parking is available throughout campus.

This workshop will help give you tips on staying positive and maintaining a growth mindset! Registration is not required.

Integrate to Regulate is a group designed to promote healing for trauma survivors. This group incorporates specific, concrete skills combined with expressive arts to support the process of trauma integration. This is a weekly in-person group provided by the EKU Counseling Center. Changes in your daily routine and the people you’re around can lead to a mixture of emotions. These new experiences can be stressful. The tools provided in this workshop are aimed to provide you with skills to navigate these intense emotions and increase the positive experiences throughout your day.
