Classified by the U.S. government as a critical language, Mandarin Chinese is spoken by over 1 billion people worldwide. China is the second largest economy in the world
and is one of largest trading partners of the United States.
Many US companies do business in China and have long-term investments there so learning Chinese makes you vastly more valuable as a employee, no matter what degree program you pursue.
