ASIAN STUDIES LECTURE: Human Rights Activist and Ex-Political Prisoner on Myanmar’s Political Crisis

  
Wai Wai Nu will present “Reflections on Myanmar’s Political Crisis: Buddhist Nationalism and Ethnic Violence” on Sept. 17, at 5 p.m. in O’Donnell Hall of Whitlock Building.

Free and open to the public. Attendance slips available.

Selected as one of the BBC’s “100 Top Women” in 2014, Wai Wai Nu is a lawyer, peace advocate, human rights activist, former political prisoner, and founding director of two organizations fighting for justice and equality for women in Burma.

Sponsored by EKU’s Asian Studies Program, Cultural Center, Department of Philosophy and Religion, Institutional Diversity and Inclusion Planning Committee, Intelligence Studies Program, University Diversity Office, and UNICEF Club at Model.
